Singer and Guitar player Stefano Barigazzi was born in 1996 in Reggio Emilia, Italy. He started to play drums when he was ten, fell in love with the blues some years later, and taught himself to play harmonica. At the age of fifteen Stefano started to sing and play guitar, and formed a band called Poor Boys. It was a blues duo (guitar and drums) playing mostly the North Mississippi hill country blues (Fred Mcdowell, RL Burnside, Junior Kimbrough, etc.) The Poor Boys recorded 1 ep and 2 albums, played at many festivals, and opened for musicians like Eric Sardinas, Ian Siegal, Eric Gales and Jack Broadbent.
In 2018 Stefano traveled to New Orleans, where he discovered new vibes and sounds hanging and playing in the clubs, and meeting new people.
In 2019 Barigazzi won the Italian Blues Challenge with the band called The Drive and earned a trip to the Europen Blues Challenge 2019 in Ponta Delgada, Azores. Invitations to several festivals in Europe followed, including the biggest blues festival in the Baltics, Augustibluus in Estonia in 2021.
Stefano Barigazzi’s music is deeply rooted in the delta blues, country and folk, mixed with the New Orleans funk. This music is unique in the European blues scene and he single-mindedly pursues his own path without compromises.
With his charismatic energy, his sparkling passion for his music and the support of an experienced rhythm section, the Stefano Barigazzi Trio ignites the audience and draws them to an intense and soulful musical experience that leaves lasting impressions.
